Lapis Lazuli is an incredibly deep blue gemstone. It is considered a rock and not a mineral, it is a combination of various minerals, mainly lazurite, but also calcite (white), sodalite (blue) and pyrite (fools' gold) whereas minerals have only a single component. It comes in a strong blue, sometimes with a hint of purple to it. White flecks in the stone, reduce the value of it. The stone is meant to improve awareness, creativity and ESP as well as thyroid problems. It is also regarded as a stone of friendship and truth.
