Opal

Boulder opal can be found in Australia where the precious opal occurs in veins and patches within the brown ironstone boulders. Black Opal is the rarest and more valuable and some can cost more than diamonds, although the black opal is not actually black, but has a dark background which enhances brilliant colours, known as ‘fire’. Light opal is more common and refers to crystal (translucent) or milky opals (opaque). Opals are said to encourage inner beauty, integrity and eyesight.
